iBasso Exemplar

The Exemplar is an iBasso hybrid IEM that combines four kinds of drivers, ten per earpiece, in a five-way design. A 10 mm dynamic driver handles the bass, four balanced armatures the mids and two more the treble, and two micro planar drivers take over above 12 kHz. The tenth driver works by bone conduction: a 10 mm brass driver that passes the low end on as small vibrations through the shell, which iBasso uses to give drums and bass more physical impact without boosting them. The 3D-printed shells have a colour-shifting finish that changes with the light and the angle, and weigh 8.3 g each. The cable is made of 88 fine copper wires with standard 0.78 mm 2-pin connectors and comes with three swappable plugs: 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm balanced, and USB-C with a built-in CX31993 DAC, so you can also plug it straight into a phone or laptop. Twelve pairs of silicone tips, two pairs of foam tips and a case are included.
