FiiO FP3 TC (USB-C)

The FP3 TC is FiiO's planar IEM FP3 with a USB-C cable, so you plug it straight into a phone, tablet or laptop without a separate DAC. A DSP chip in the cable converts the digital signal to analogue (up to 384 kHz/24-bit) and drives each earpiece balanced, with separate positive and negative signal lines per channel; FiiO quotes a signal-to-noise ratio above 122 dB. In the FiiO Control app (Android) or FiiO's web tool you can set an 8-band parametric EQ and save it in the cable, and an in-line microphone with controls lets you take calls. The earphones are the same as the FP3: a self-developed 14.5 mm planar driver with a 1 μm titanium- and aluminium-coated diaphragm, 14 N52 magnets, a black walnut faceplate and about 6.5 g per side. It works with Windows, macOS, iOS and Android without installing drivers; if you'd rather use a 3.5 mm jack, take the FP3.
