iFi audio iDSD GR 2

The iDSD GR 2 is a portable DAC and headphone amplifier that also fits into a desk or hi-fi setup. iFi redesigned the signal path around a Burr-Brown PCM1795 DAC, which decodes PCM up to 768 kHz and DSD512, followed by fully balanced class-A amplification. From the 4.4 mm balanced output it delivers up to 1513 mW into 32 Ω for demanding headphones, and iEMatch lowers the output for very sensitive IEMs so you don't hear hiss. Sources connect by USB-C, S/PDIF or Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Lossless, which streams CD quality (16-bit/44.1 kHz) wirelessly, plus LDAC, aptX Adaptive and LHDC. Balanced and single-ended analogue inputs and outputs let you use it as a DAC or preamp as well. The 4900 mAh battery gives about seven hours; on external power a hybrid mode only draws on the battery when extra power is needed, and the iFi Nexis app gives settings and firmware updates.
