Overview
The GO link 2 Max is a USB-C DAC and headphone amplifier in the shape of a short cable: a USB-C plug on one end, a small housing with the headphone jacks on the other. Two ESS DACs decode PCM up to 384 kHz and DSD256, and iFi uses its GMT clock circuit to keep timing precise. It has a 4.4 mm balanced output with up to 241 mW into 32 Ω and a 3.5 mm output with iFi's S-Balanced circuit, which iFi says halves crosstalk between left and right compared with a normal 3.5 mm output. Volume is controlled in hardware, so the full resolution of the signal is kept at low volume. The cable between plug and housing is silver-plated copper in a twisted-pair layout to keep interference out. A USB-C to USB-A adapter is included.
