FiiO KA13 (black)

The KA13 is a small USB-C DAC and headphone amplifier that goes between your phone or laptop and your headphones. It uses two Cirrus Logic CS43131 DACs and plays PCM up to 384 kHz/32-bit and DSD256. FiiO gave it a Desktop Mode switch: when the source can supply enough power, the balanced 4.4 mm output delivers up to 550 mW per channel into 32 Ω, which FiiO says is close to a desktop amplifier; with the mode off it uses less power for phones. Next to the 4.4 mm balanced output there is a 3.5 mm output that can also send S/PDIF to an external DAC. A small RGB light shows the sample rate, and in the FiiO Control app you set the light, filters and S/PDIF output. The cable is detachable, and both a USB-C and a Lightning cable are included.
