One dynamic driver for the bass and one balanced armature for detail, in a colourful shell. The ZST made hybrid IEMs affordable and is still a fun, energetic listen. Version without microphone.
Frequency response
Dashed line: the Harman IE 2019 target
Measured by Hawaii Bad Boy (IEC 711 clone), published on squig.link. Independent measurement, not by us. Measuring rigs differ slightly above 8 kHz.
Sound signature
Harman
Research-backed tuning most listeners prefer: gentle bass lift, natural mids.
Read from the measurement above: bass and treble compared with Harman IE 2019. One curve gives an indication, not the final word.
The ZST has a solid mid-bass hump (about 3.5 dB over the target between 100 and 250 Hz) without much extra sub-bass. Higher up, the curve zigzags: a bump at 2 kHz, a dip of about 5.5 dB around 3.5 kHz and a peak at 5 kHz. That makes for an energetic, slightly uneven sound with plenty of bite on snare drums and 's' sounds. Fun for rock and electronic music at a low price.
