Tuned together with reviewer Crinacle, the ZEX Pro combines a dynamic driver, a balanced armature and an electrostatic driver for treble. A lot of technology for the price. Version without microphone.
Frequency response
Dashed line: the Harman IE 2019 target
Measured by Aftersound (IEC 711 clone), published on squig.link. Independent measurement, not by us. Measuring rigs differ slightly above 8 kHz.
Sound signature
Harman
Research-backed tuning most listeners prefer: gentle bass lift, natural mids.
Read from the measurement above: bass and treble compared with Harman IE 2019. One curve gives an indication, not the final word.
Bass and mids stay within 1.5 dB of the target up to 1.5 kHz, so nothing in the lower half booms or goes missing. The upper mids are pulled back around 2.6 kHz (about 5.5 dB under the target), and the most striking feature is a sharp peak at 7.2 kHz, some 7 dB above the target. That gives a crisp, detailed top end, but treble-sensitive listeners may find it sharp, especially at higher volume.
