FiiO JT3 (silver)

The JT3 is an open-back dynamic headphone from FiiO's Jade Audio line for people starting out with hi-fi listening at home or at the desk. Its 50 mm driver has a diaphragm that combines stiff PEK with flexible PU and a brass damping ring, a light voice-coil former of glass fibre and polyimide, a copper-clad aluminium coil and N52 magnets, and the drivers are angled to follow the shape of your ear; FiiO describes the sound as relaxed with robust bass. Open-back means a spacious sound, but also that sound leaks out and outside noise comes in. At 80 Ω and 110 dB/Vrms a phone or laptop can play it, and a small USB DAC/amp gives more headroom. The cups have aluminium-magnesium grilles, the velvet pads are removable and washable, and it weighs about 330 g. The detachable 1.5 m palladium-plated copper cable connects with dual 3.5 mm plugs and has a microphone and remote for calls and gaming; a 6.3 mm adapter is included. This is the silver version, with a silver grille.
